Patisserie Les 3 Chocolats
I finally ventured out and about to our local shopping area today after a long absence due to lockdown. Now that restrictions are being lifted here in the UK, I was pleased to see things slowly returning to some kind of altered normality. Local small businesses are reopening with social distancing queues of shoppers patiently waiting for their turn to enter their doors.
After wandering around the shops for a bit, I dropped into Patisserie Les 3 Chocolats, an authentic artisan French patisserie for some takeaway afternoon tea.
This independent business, has all kinds of pastries, cakes, desserts and chocolates with the selection changing daily and made onsite by the skillful chef. You can indulge in a ”Eclats framboise” - a smooth creamy chocolate mousse topped with fresh raspberry compote, or an ”Opera” - a chocolate and coffee infused layered cream sponge slice, but if you prefer flaky, buttery croissants or pain au chocolates, then you will find them all here.
It would be far too difficult for me to pick just one favourite, but with each bite, I was instantly transported back to my years in Paris, when I would partake in the mandatory Sunday afternoon pattiseries with the family from our local Patisserie Boulangerie.
So next time you are in Kingston Upon Thames, and are wanting a morning bite, an afternoon treat, or even a specially made artisan birthday cake, be sure to pop in to this local gem. Now open daily. Bon Appetit!
